"A stock C5 6 speed is about as fast as a stock TT on the highway. They don't even jump on a TT by too much from a launch. I smoked one like 5 times in a row out in the street races from a stop (remember that Wes?)... by the time I was shifting to 2nd gear I was pulling on him and had him by 2-3 car lengths by 80MPH. Now the new Corvette Z06's are bad Mofo's from what I've heard... run mid to low 12's stock and are dyno'ing 330-350 RWHP all stock."I don't see anything in what you said in this post about you saying you were "pretty modified"! You do mention being "lightly modified" in your "they'er overated" post. You also say "Because I raced a bunch of them when in both of my last 2 ZTT's'... both when I was stock and when I was lightly modified (intake and exhaust). Everytime it was the same...dead even." I'm not too sure but stage one or two will not give you rear wheel HP of 350. I thought that was the gross HP overall not the RWHP. I could be wrong on this as I don't have these mods on my TT. I am sure you can enlighten me on this. In both your post you are incorrect. No stock TT with 300 HP will best a C5 with 345 stck HP. It never happened! You want this to be the case but, it never happened.
Now a modification on intake and exahust may have given you more HP (it would be good to know how much) but then and only then would you have been able to keep up with it not it keeping up with you! Again, one would like to know how much HP your 'light modification' produced. And if you had this type of modification you TT is not stock!!! Again, as I mentioned the C5 will do 4.8 (with the 6 speed and 3.51 axel) 0 to 60. This has little to do you my reading it in a magizine as I have seen these dyno'ed (Yes GM does own dyno's) at their GM Tech Center in Warren, MI and the Milford Proving Grounds in Milford, MI. I can with all conviction prove that you are NOT telling the truth. This is not a flame nor a cut down to the Z. I own one and will always own one (did since the 240 (1), 260 (3) and the 280 (1)) Its simple...when someone ask an honest question comparing two cars give them the right information regardless of your personal feelings, wants, fantasy's etc. This person may go out and purchase the ZTT expecting it in its stock form to best a freinds C5 6 speed (perhaps) and based on your bogus information have to spend an additional 2500 to 5500 beating his freind at the track! That's not fair to him or anyone else who reads this information. Don't take this as a flame I only want to tell the truth! Also just for the record....A Z06 will need a TT at stage 5 or 6 to stay in the same 0 to 60 range based on what I have seen at Milford!!!
